- Our Protecta® shock absorbing lanyards provide high quality
compliance at an economical price and are trusted by
workers. They feature durable webbing and steel hardware
for strength and corrosion resistance. The shock absorbing
packs feature a controlled tearing action when subjected
to a fall, reducing the forces imposed on the user to safe
levels and stopping the fall. Various styles, lengths and hooks
options are available
Features
- 2.0 metre single/ double tail lanyard
- General purpose fall arrest lanyard with an overall length
between 300mm - 2m suitable for fall arrest, work
positioning and restraint.
- Flat/ Elasticated webbing lanyard tail
- Heavy duty polyester/ tubular elasticated webbing
endures rough use, standing up to long periods of outdoor
elements including sun exposure without tearing or fraying
for added longevity and durability. Elasticated webbing
reduces trip fall hazards, dragging and catching for
complete freedom of movement.
- Compact energy absorber with clear cover
- Features a compact energy absorbing unit encased in UV
resistant transparent plastic for easy inspection, durability
and added longevity.
- Energy absorbing design limits fall arrest forces
- Unique controlled tearing action immediately begins to
extend and absorb energy during a fall, limiting arresting
forces to safe levels below 6kN.
- Double action snap hook/ scaffold hooks on ends
- Includes double action snap hooks for attachment to
harness fall arrest point and easy connection to anchorage
points during attached climbing.
- User friendly self-locking connectors
- Automatically locks and closes for added safety.
- Ideal for all workers regardless of shape, size and weight;
designed to allow for applications where the combined
body weight of the user (including tools and clothing) is up
to 160kg.
- A deployed energy absorber will allow user to visually see
if the lanyard has been involved in a fall, providing safe,
simple and reliable inspection.
- Personal Fall Protection Products manufactured from
webbing should be cleaned periodically to help extend the
life expectancy of the product and maintain an acceptable
level of performance.
- Frequency: Past testing indicates that laundering does not
contribute to strength loss, although it has been observed
that commercial washing could cause abrasion between
metal hardware elements and webbing straps, as well as
degradation of product markings.
- Laundering procedure: High pressure power type washers
and steam cleaners should be avoided when cleaning web
products because of potential harm to the web fibres
Two acceptable procedures are detailed below:
- Hand Scrubbing
- Mild bleach free laundry detergent is acceptable.
- Machine wash is not advised for shock absorbing lanyards
due to problems with drying the tightly rolled up web that is
also covered. Hand wash of the cover only.
